Caring for God’s Acre visit – 20th November 2019

Alex and his team of volunteers from Caring for God’s Acre once again visited St Mary’s for their final session of the year to prepare the churchyard for the winter. They undertook many tasks including hedge trimming, tree maintenance, scything and leaf clearing. The whole team are an inspiration and worked very hard indeed to ensure that the wildlife in the grounds of the church can continue to thrive and that the graves are well managed. As the churchyard has not been intensively managed in the past or been subject to chemicals is has huge biodiversity. They will return in the Spring. Look out for more information of the work of this group at St Mary’s and how we hope to enhance their work in the New Year.  A huge thank you goes to Caring for God’s Acre for their continued support and hard work.
